FH6 Drag Classes Explained: From Street RWD to the 6.2L Shootout
Every good drag scene runs classes, because a fair race is a good race. Throw an unlimited build against a street car and nobody learns anything. Ranked brackets keep cars matched so the win comes down to the build and the driver, not who dumped the most power in.
Here's the rundown of the ranked drag classes on 1320 Forza and how to pick the one that fits you.
Street RWD
The launch-skill street class. Rear-wheel drive, front-engine, capped around A-class with a power ceiling and a minimum weight. No exotics, no race swaps. This is where you learn to actually drive a drag car, because you can't just AWD your way out of a bad launch. If you're new, start here.
Outlaw RWD
Big power, small traction, no apologies. Still rear-wheel drive but with a much higher power ceiling and a lighter minimum weight than Street. Slicks and power adders welcome. This is the class for people who love the fight of putting way too much power to two tires. Launch discipline is everything.
6.2L Shootout
The muscle shootout, and one of the most character-filled classes on the platform. Rear-wheel drive, front-engine, built around a specific 6.2L V8 swap only, with a power cap and minimum weight. It's a spec-flavored bracket that rewards knowing the platform inside out instead of just chasing the highest PI. If you love American iron, this is your home.
AWD
All-wheel drive gets its own house, and for good reason. AWD launches so much easier than RWD that mixing them would make every RWD class a joke. Front-engine, capped power, minimum weight. Come here if you want brutal, repeatable launches and top-end wars.
Pro Street
The fastest legal front-engine doorslammers. Higher PI ceiling, RWD or AWD, no banned cars. This is the deep end: purpose-built machines where every setting matters and the margins are tiny. Earn your way up before you live here.
FWD
Yes, front-wheel drive has a class, and yes, it's a blast. Front-engine, four-cylinder friendly, capped power and a minimum weight. The underdog bracket where a well-driven hot hatch embarrasses people who underestimated it.
Which class should you run?
- Brand new? Street RWD. It teaches you to drive.
- Love raw power and a challenge? Outlaw RWD.
- Muscle car diehard? 6.2L Shootout.
- Want the easiest launches and top-end battles? AWD.
- Ready for the big leagues? Pro Street.
- Want to be the underdog nobody sees coming? FWD.
Every ranked class runs digs, because a heads-up start is the truest test. The exact caps and rules for each class are enforced automatically when you list a car, and a spec check keeps everyone honest.
Pick a lane and go
The best way to understand a class is to build a car for it and race. Head to your garage, build something legal, and take it to The List or a bracket tournament. Find the class that fits how you like to race, then go own it.
